Children of Grace Emma and John Henry Morris

David John was born June 17, 1938 at the Salvation Army Mother's Hospital, Hackney North, and Baptised September 25, 1938 in the Parish Church of St. Mark's, Dalston, the only child of Grace Emma and John Henry Morris. Following his parent's move to Lambourn, Berkshire in 1940, he attended the Lambourn Church of England School from May 14, 1943 to September 2, 1945. The school occupied the hill overlooking the village, having moved from the High Street in 1931. After his father died in 1946, he moved with his mother to Palmers Green and went to the Winchmore County Secondary School until September, 1951. Following his mother's marriage to William Turner they settled in Walthamstow, E17, where David attended the Joseph Barret Secondary Modern School from February, 1952 to July, 1953 attaining a Second Class School Leaving Certificate. His first job at the age of 15 was as a shop assistant at Taylor Bros. Men's Outfitters in Walthamstow High Street, where he worked until April, 1957. On May 9, 1957 he was enlisted into the National Service - Army No. 23392285 - and posted to 5 Training Battalion, R.A.S.C.Aldershot. On May 23, 1957 he joined 2 Training Battalion, Aldershot, completing his initial Training July 19, 1957. He volunteered for service in the Aden Protectorate Levies and was posted to Depot Battalion August 23, 1957, embarking from port of Embarkation, DEUQC/ADEN August 29, 1957. He sailed aboard the troopship Dunnera to the Port of Aden via the Suez Canal arriving September 14, 1957.The Dunnera was one of the first ships to use the canal since the blockage by President Nasser in July, 1956. He served in Aden until October 25, 1960, working in the HQ Administration as an NCO Clerk stationed at Singapore Lines, a barracks on the outskirts of the main town of Crater. During his tour he returned to England on leave December 11, 1958, returning February 17, 1959. He signed on for a further years service and was discharged April 1, 1961, transferring to the Regular Army Reserve until March 31, 1965. He married Joan Beryl Goodbody September 15, 1961 at the Register Office in the District of Essex South-Western. He was 23 years old and Joan 19, the youngest of three daughters of Charles Frederick and Gladys (nee Trussler) Goodbody. Her father worked as a postal and telegraph officer. David was employed as a production control clerk for Taylor Instrument Co's and living at home at 8, Clifford Road, Walthamstow. Joan was a ladieswear sales assistant and living at home at 7, William Morris Close, Walthamstow. Witnesses were Terry Cole (her sister Carole's fiancee) and Norman Trussler.They had two children. Karen was born May 8, 1962 in Thorpe Coombe Hospital, Walthamstow. David and Joan were then living in a flat at 95, Wightman Road, Harringay, N4, which overlooked the railway line into Kings Cross station. Towards the end of 1962 they moved to Hertfordshire when Taylor Instruments re-located to the new town of Stevenage, renting a Development Corporation house at 81, Broad Oak Way. This is where Robert was born June 18, 1964. In 1979 Joan sued for divorcee, and the marriage was dissolved May 13, 1980. They were then living at 69, York Road,Stevenage. David moved into a furnished house in Wisden Road, Stevenage, which he rented with a collegue from work. He married Jacqueline Elizabeth Lahive May 2, 1981 at the Hitchin Register Office, Hertfordshire. She was 36 years old, a divorcee with four children, the daughter of Edith Bugden and Alexander Gavin, a cloakroom attendent. (Her mother had re-married). They were both living at 22, Lannock, Letchworth, Herts. Witnesses were S.H.A.Newman and Jacqueline's mother. They had one child. Claire was born February 20, 1982 at North Herts Hospital, Hitchin. Jacqueline sued for divorce in 1984, and the marriage was dissolved July 25, 1985. David married Judith Ann Shuttleworth October 18, 1986 at the Hitchin Register Office. She was 42 years old, a divorcee with a son and a daughter. At the time of writing they are still married, and David is the Director of a successful packaging company.
Notes for Joan Beryl Goodbody. Joan was born March 7, 1942 at 14, William Morris Close, Walthamstow, the daughter of Charles Frederick and Gladys Beatrice (nee Trussler). After her divorce from David in 1980, she married John Bryant June 22, 1985 at the United Reform Church, Cutty's Lane, Stevenage. John was 38 years old and divorced and working as a club manager, the son of Thomas Walter Bryant (deceased), who had been a stores manager. Joan was 43 years old and working as a departmental manager. He father, Charles was then working as a publican. Witnesses were her son, Robert and D.A.Bryant. Their address is given as 15, East Close, Stevenage.

Children of Ethel May and Harry Vasbenter

Albert was born in 1929. He married Joy Phillips in 1955. They had four children. Peter, 1958; Gary, 1962; Liz, 1964 and Helen, 1970. He married Kathryn Kalnins in 1981. No further history researched .
